Cypress Capital Hong Kong Ltd. was founded in 2013 by partners with decades of experience in top US banks. Cypress Capital operates global portfolios in private credit, private equity, and public equity. Our main clients are high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and public companies from the Greater China region.

We hold a type 4 and type 9 license from the Securities & Futures Commission of Hong Kong, giving us the right to provide advisory and asset management services.

Meet The Team

Alex Pan

FOUNDING MEMBER / CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Prior to founding Cypress, Alex worked for the private wealth management division of Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong from 2007 to 2013. They specialized in providing investment management services for high-net-worth clients in the Greater China region. Alex began his career at J.P. Morgan Securities as equity trader in 1997. He majored in finance for his undergraduate degree at National Taiwan University. He also has a MBA degree from The University of Cambridge.

Joseph Wang

FOUNDING MEMBER / HEAD OF CLIENT ADVISOR TEAM

Joseph Wang worked for Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong from 2007 to 2013, providing investment advisory services for wealthy families in Greater China. Prior to that, Joseph worked for J.P. Morgan Securities in Taiwan, providing foreign securities to domestic clients. Joseph graduated from the department of industrial and information management at National Cheng Kung University and obtained an EMBA degree from National Chengchi University.

Alex Lin

FOUNDING MEMBER / CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER

Alex Lin is a founding member and Investment Officer of Cypress Capital Hong Kong Limited. Prior to founding Cypress Capital, Alex was a director at Greater China hedge fund Keywise Capital. Alex began his buy-side career at General Electric Asset Management in the US and then transitioned to Pi Investment Ltd. in Hong Kong. Alex graduated from University of Michigan with dual degree in Economics and Art History. He also earned a Master degree from Columbia University in New York.

John Hui

Chief Operating Officer

John Hui started his career at KPMG in the audit and assurance. Subsequently, he joined CBRE Global Investors and was the head of Hong Kong Finance. He later joined Allard Partners Limited as the Head of Operation and Finance. John graduated from the University of New South Wales with a double degree in Commerce and Law. He is a member of ACCA and a qualified legal practitioner of the NSW Supreme Court.
